ABOUT THIS ACTIVITY

What’s inside.

A word search gives you a reason to look closely at Japanese: to follow the shapes, notice the order and find a word you recognise. This collection pairs hiragana grids with illustrations and English meanings, so you can return to your vocabulary as you work.

Start with the word list and reading hints, then use the puzzles to revisit the same words. The collection moves through themed vocabulary and increasing difficulty, with bonus puzzles for a more challenging search.
