Here, reading has a purpose: every clue helps you decide what belongs where. Work through a Japanese sentence, look for the useful detail and mark what it tells you in the grid.
The furigana edition adds small reading hints above kanji. Use them to keep moving through a clue, then return to a sentence that needed a second look once you have solved the puzzle.
